COVID-19 Update: Virus impact on Village Operations

Village operations and public meetings have been changed to reduce impact and potential transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

Limited In-Person Visits to Village Offices

All Village facilities will be limiting in-person visits starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Essential staff will be available at the Village Hall from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm by phone or email to assist with business. The main number is (585) 237-2216. Email inquiries can be made for the following topics:

  • Water/Sewer Billings – Christina Slusser
  • Village Invoices and Tax Payments – Gail Vosburg
  • General Inquiries on Village Policies – Matt Jensen

For bill payment, mail payments to Village Hall (46 North Main Street, Perry, NY 14530) or put payments in the drop box in the entry way of Village Hall.

By State order, Court sessions are hereby suspended. Cases will be delayed until further notice. The Village Court Clerk will be rescheduling current cases as needed.

Village Meetings

Governor Cuomo has issues Executive Order 202.1 which suspends the requirements to make Village meetings open to the public. If meetings are closed to the public, the Village will make the meetings available via phone conference services and make recordings and transcripts of such meetings. The Village is also exploring video conferencing technology to further adhere with open meeting laws and, when applicable, will allow community members to follow. Committees and boards will be notified if their meetings will be conducted via conference call or video conferencing.

Going Forward

The Village is maintaining contact with the Wyoming County Health Department and following the directions of the CDC and New York State Health Department. We are committed to the long-term health and vitality of our community. Updates will be provided as needed. We encourage all residents and businesses to operate in a safe and health conscious manner to help reduce risk and transmission opportunities during this unique time.
