NEW DIRECTOR ACCEPTS LETCHWORTH GATEWAY VILLAGES POST

PERRY, NY, January 11, 2017—Today, Village of Perry Mayor Rick Hauser, in conjunction with the Letchworth Gateway Villages advisory committee announced that Nicole Manapol will serve as the inaugural Program Director for the Letchworth Gateway Villages Program. Ms. Manapol brings considerable experience as a Program Officer and Director in a broad range of contexts, as well as small business experience to the role.
More than two dozen applications were received in response to the posting for this new role, resulting in a pool of highly qualified candidates with a wide variety of special distinguishing skills and expertise.
"We are very pleased that Nicole has accepted this position," said Hauser, who will provide administrative support for the program through the Village of Perry and in conjunction with the leader of Livingston County's Downtown Partnership program, Louise Wadsworth. "Each of the candidates interviewed brought great ideas and excitement about the program to the table. The committee was very encouraged to see the breadth of expertise and interests of those who applied which included economics, policy development and communications to name a few."
The Letchworth Gateway Villages Program will establish a new collaboration between three neighbor villages in order to develop a stronger connection between them to benefit area businesses, residents and visitors. The team expects that outreach efforts to businesses, community groups and other stakeholders will begin in February 2017.
About the Letchworth Gateway Villages Program
January 2017 brings the beginning of the first full calendar year for the program, which got its start with a grant application supported by the villages of Mt. Morris, Geneseo and Perry, NY.
Each village has designated a representative volunteer group (Geneseo Tourism, Perry Main Street Association, and Mt. Morris' Partners for Progress) in their communities to serve as their proxies to the program.
The advisory committee for the program includes representatives from Geneseo Tourism, the Perry Main Street Association, and Partners for Progress of Mt. Morris as well as Mayor Rick Hauser from the Village of Perry (a sponsor of the grant) and Livingston County Downtown Partnership Coordinator Louise Wadsworth.
